Needing some warmth

Barnet High Street is once again bedecked with flowering hanging baskets – their arrival was delayed by the late spring and they are still in need of some more warm weather!
When in full bloom, the 19 hanging baskets will bring a real splash of colour to the High Street.
The installation of this summer’s floral displays was delayed because of the continuing low night-time temperatures and the fear of late frosts.
The cost of supplying the hanging baskets – and maintaining them – is shared between the Barnet Society, Barnet Residents Association and Hadley Residents Association, which each contribute just short of £500.
Judith Clouston, the Barnet Society committee member who organised the installation of the hanging baskets, hopes that it might be possible next year to find a sponsor to meet the cost of future floral displays.
