Barnet Christmas Fayre
The Fayre on the first weekend in December was a very good event this year – despite the weather being bitterly cold – with many people getting out and enjoying all that was on offer.
There were many more activities than recent years; in addition to the usual stalls and funfair rides in the (temporarily pedestrianised) High Street, the area at the rear of The Spires was opened up and a ‘Winter Wonderland’ installed with a children’s “ice” rink.

Barnet Museum and St John the Baptist Church were open and welcomed many through their doors; Barnet College provided a hog roast; Church House was home to an excellent and extensive Craft Market; and the newly-restored Tudor Hall offered a wonderfully warm respite from the chilly exterior.
How would you like this event to develop in future years?
This was followed before Christmas by Thursday late night opening for local shops and businesses as a trial for possible future initiatives.
