A well-attended open-air service in Ravenscroft Park was held by Christ Church, Barnet, to reach out to the community

Ravenscroft Park was the setting for an outdoor service held by Christ Church, Barnet, allowing the congregation and passersby to take advantage of a sunny Sunday morning.
“Church in the Park” was the first service of its kind organised by Christ Church as part of its ongoing commitment to reach out to the community.
Worshippers were invited to stay on for a picnic lunch under the shade of the park’s mature trees – and an ice cream van was on hand as well.

Andy Rimmer, the Christ Church vicar, said it was the first time they had organised an open-air service.
They were determined to take advantage of the exceptional summer weather.

“Our ‘Church in the Park’ event builds on our church in the community programme.”
In recent years Christ Church has organised well attended Christmas carol concerts in Ravenscroft Park.
