Residents at the Carlton Court Care Home in Bells Hill, Barnet, spent a day engaged on activities with children from a New Barnet nursery as part of the home's attempt to encourage visits by community groups and organisations.

Older children from the Bright Little Stars Barnet Nursey in Leicester Road, who were dressed in Halloween costumes, worked with the residents on arts and crafts projects creating decorations.

Sahrish Mahmood, a deputy manager at the nursey, said the visit was a wonderful opportunity for children to celebrate Halloween with the residents.

“We are truly grateful to Carlton Court for welcoming us and giving our children the opportunity to celebrate Halloween alongside their residents.

“Events like this allow the children to connect with the local community and build empathy, understanding and a sense of togetherness.”

Carlton Court encourages partnerships with local charities and organisations to develop intergenerational activities.

George Bacon, the home’s business development manager, said the residents were thrilled that children from the nursery decided to collaborate with their Halloween party.

“Residents and members of the local community loved engaging with the children.

“It was so special to witness that bonding across the generations.”
