I loved finding and reading this account made by my grandmother Kate Osborn and her brother Bert Plummer. I remember them very well making this tape at my grandmother's small flat in Hadley Wood, where Uncle Bert would make regular visits and they'd sit and reminisce about the past and growing up in Barnet.
There was one famous story about their mother, who ran the shop in Church Passage coming back in a horse and cart from Covent Garden market and fending off an attack by a robber with her horse crop. I imagine she was quite formidable, She had six children, one, Uncle Norman ,at the age of 46. Kate brought him up alongside my mother as they were of a similar age. They both lived to a good age, Norman passing away a few years before my mother who died in 2016 at 100 years old. Kate also owned a sweetshop later in life in Hertfordshire.
I would also like to know if it's possible to get a copy of this tape - maybe you could forward this to John Hay (my second cousin) whom I knew as a little boy when he was known as Johnny.
