Since the installation of the bicycle lanes in the High Road, the congestion travelling North And South on the A1000 has increased substantially lasting almost the entire day and early evening.
Idling cars and stop and start traffic increases pollution, detrimental to health and contrary to the aim of reducing carbon emissions.

Removal of several 'pay and display' parking spaces in the main shopping centre, where there is no cycle or bus lane, seem counter intuitive and will not help the struggling retailers in these difficult times.
My office is in East Finchley I was was unaware of any prior consultation, I wonder if L B Barnet have carried out an impact assessment and have been monitoring the use of the cycle lanes, as I rarely see any cyclist at all.
