Several other 'medieval'-Tudor buildings were/are of significant importance and in close proximity to 54A. According to Widdicombe's "Chat about Barnet" (published in the early 1900s) the old Crown was where Arbella Stuart was held in 1611, and in 1594 was used as a meeting place for the trustees of the Grammar School. The two Barns that used to be near the Church would be a similar age as the Old Manor, formerly near Church Passage. l have copies of the Indentures from the National Archives...Fredrick Cass speaks of the Antelope Inn. So all were built prior to Jacobean period...plus one other of even earlier significance.
