absolutely agree with Tim on this, this is awful, whinging nimbyism. The complaints just strike me as a post rationalisation of a dislike of change.

We need to build houses for Londoners and dense developments within waking distance of existing transport links such as this and High Barnet station are perfect

If you keep objecting to homes on brownfield sites next to public transport your very quickly going to find yourself outvoted at mayoral and national elections by young people who need homes - and then your precious greenbelt (a lot of it is industrial farmland but that's another argument) will get built on.
