“ Just watched an episode of parking wars which featured this dispute. Have to say I'm from Reading and most of the members on that Council Bench were very ignorant to the problem, the same happens in my area, a simple request which would benefit the traders greatly, 1/2 hr free parking, basically they were more interested in Council coffers. As for Counciller Brian Salinger, he was a disgrace! Comments that he made were just indefencable! No doubt as here the Business rates will go up again. Small Business doesn't stand a chance while people like him are in charge. The lady who invited him to sit in her Cafe was instantly dismissed and also her view that they were there of free will and the council members were being payed was very valid, yet they tried to make her look small. I hope they are still campaigning and all the very best of luck to them.
Hope Cllr Salinger in the meantime has lessons on how to deal with people. ”
