“ I am totally devastated that Friends Reunited has closed down. Initially it was so simple and easy to use. A unique strength it has is to list EVERY school, college and university in the U.K., and its former pupils and students. This is something that FACEBOOK and TWITTER never achieved. I have been able to use it to contact former classmates and fellow students, including some who no longer live in the U.K. I can only hope that someone/some organisation will be able to resurrect it or - alternatively - inaugurate a similar website.
IN MY OPINION F.R. is irreplaceable, and the World will be a much poorer place without it. Its founders have never - to the best of my knowledge - received an honour such as M.B.E., C.B.E., O.B.E., a knighthood/damehood, and this is a glaring omission. ”
