Did Henry Hyde own the land,on which the Reading Rooms were built?as he provided a property for the 12th Middlesex rifles, in the High Street.My family had a long association with Barnet,having owned the building,beside the Library, where Smoke & Guns is now!not Braugens, before that, l have the Indentures,from 1767, and lawyers details of ownership back to1600s, Paintings/sketches of this corner property exist in the museum, and l have done considerable research,sometimes discussing same with museum staff
