I commented on this via twitter a week or so ago. My main concern is that it would appear that easing traffic flow through Barnet is seemingly to take precedence over public transport...the sentiment of the article seems to be that buses stopping to pick up and set down are an inconvenience rather than an asset. I personally would like to see some thought given to pedestrianising the High Street and discouraging all traffic through Barnet, but then I am someone who doesn't own a car! If the 34 continues to Arkley or Barnet Hospital and can use stop by museum, and all buses using the High Street had to stop at Post Office then the changes described would not inconvenience too many passengers but I fear that the potential congestion points would simply be moved, not eradicated. The problem is surely chiefly caused by the sheer volume of traffic passing through Barnet, not the number of buses and where they stop.
