In July the Barnet Society lost one of its oldest members - Brenda Parker. In her 92 extraordinarily active years she had been a member of many Barnet organizations, but will be best remembered as a fine actress and also producer for Brookland Players, who trod the boards of Church House and then the Old Bull until 1994.

Many of her fellow thespians joined her family and friends at the Funeral and service of thanksgiving held at the church of St Mary the Virgin, Monken Hadley on 23rd July, and afterwards at Brenda’s house and lovely garden in East View. Her husband Eric, who died in 2004, was a leading Rotarian and will be remembered by older Barnet residents as the proprietor of ‘Parker Pianos’ at 35a High Street.
