The Barnet Society encourages its members to be active and care for such matters as street cleanliness, open spaces, building development and public transport.
It helps and advises members when planning problems arise that might have general implications, and supports them when trying to save or improve the town’s amenities.
The Society has achieved much during its life, helping prevent inappropriate developments by official and commercial organisations, as well as encouraging the creation and dynamic continuation of the Conservation Areas.
The subscription is £5.00 a year per person or £8.00 for members of a family living at one address.
